About Us
Youth A.I.D Lewisham was established in 1973 and provides an advice, information and development service for young people throughout the borough of Lewisham.
We are a small voluntary sector youth organisation that carries out an extensive programme of work through drop-in advice and counselling sessions for young people, group work and collaboration with a number of organisations to develop appropriate responses for young people in the fields of health education, volunteering, employment, careers advice and educational support.
Youth A.I.D Lewisham is a member of a number of key National youth organisations and has built strong strategic relationships with these and other organisations. These links have enabled us to establish and nurture significant partnerships which have helped regional, national and international organisations to deliver their objectives and targets. Through them we have created new, creative and sustainable opportunities for young people in Lewisham and other London Boroughs.
Key organisations often experience difficulty in reaching and effectively engaging with young people - particularly from black and minority ethnic communities, disadvantaged and hard to reach groups. Through working in partnership with Youth A.I.D. Lewisham these organisations have developed their capability and capacity to engage with and deliver services to some of London's most vulnerable and challenging young people.

Website
Youth A.I.D has been funded by v to expand volunteering opportunities and as part of this process (and to meet v requirements) we are keen to update and develop our website, incorporating the ideas of young people.
Lewisham Participation project was approached to lead sessions which would gather the ideas of young people and help them to plan what actions they should take as a group to ensure the website was developed - the idea was to pass on new skills and learning to young people as they carried out the work.
